VBS 2020: July 20 – 24

We all play games in some form, board games, card games, online games, and video games. The goal for everyone is the same, to play and win. To live up to the challenge of the game and emerge the winner. The Bible tells us that God’s glory is revealed in His entire creation. This week, we’ll learn how G.A.M.E.S. can reveal the glory of God. As a follower of Jesus, we have a challenge to live up to. The challenge involves seeing (G.A.) and doing (M.E.S.). Can you live up to the challenge to follow Jesus?

We can see the greatness of God in creation everywhere we go.

Key Verse:  Romans 1:20
“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”

Day 2 | AWARE

You can become aware of God’s voice.

Key Verse:  Matthew 7: 24-27
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

You can mention to others what you believe about Jesus.

Key Verse:  1 Peter 3:15
‘Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.’

You can express your thoughts, feelings, to God through prayer.

Key Verse: Matthew 6: 5-13
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. “

Day 5 | SHOW

You can show others God’s love.

Key Verse:  Matthew 22: 36-40
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
